WHAT IS GABLE CREST GARDENS?

We’ve been doing a series of blog posts (The Story Behind Gable Crest Gardens and Who is Gable Crest Gardens) to help you get to know who we are, our inspirations in creating the gardens and now in this post, what we hope to share with you!

Here at Gable Crest Gardens, we simply just love growing plants, and we hope to share that with you when you visit. As we open for our first U-Pick Cut Flower Season, we’re already thinking about next year and what additional plants to add into the cutting garden to add more unique varieties and to extend the U-Pick season to provide you with more seasonal bouquets!

We are just minutes away from State Route 83 in the heart of Amish country, making the gardens an easy retreat to find for a relaxing day in the country. When planning the gardens, we tried keeping you in mind and how you would like to spend your time here. Maybe you’re planning a day with friends or would you like to bring your family? Would you have a small child in a stroller? We tried to keep most of our grass pathways accessible so that you have room to bring a stroller or be able to walk comfortably throughout the pathways with a group. However you plan your visit here, we hope it’s a relaxing day in nature, surrounded by beautiful farmland where you can come to recharge from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Our love of growing plants and sharing them with you extends past just the U-Pick Gardens. Next year, we plan on having our first plant sale when we reopen for U-Pick events in the spring! We are very excited for this event and being able to support you in growing your gardens at home with some of our favorite varieties of plants that we use in our own gardens!

Beyond providing you with plant starts in the spring, we hope to encourage you in your gardens through our blog, providing you with the knowledge we’ve gained over the years. We have learned so much in developing not only our flower gardens, but in our orchard, vegetable and herb gardens, as well as developing wildflower meadows to support our honeybee apiary and other pollinators! We would love for you to join us in this journey as we share some of our mistakes and successes that we’ve experienced along the way, as well as new gardening practices we try in the future!

We are thrilled to be finally embarking on this new journey with Gable Crest Gardens, and we couldn’t be more happy that you are here joining us! We will be announcing our Summer U-Pick Opening Day in the coming weeks, but in the meantime, we will keep you updated here on the blog or our Instagram!
